• About Us

  Evergreen Gardenworks was started by Susie and Brent in 1989 to propagate and grow rare and unusual plants for bonsai and landscape use. We soon discovered that the population base in the remote beautiful Ukiah valley was much too small to support an operation of this type. This led to the start of our mail order operation in 1994. In 1996 we discovered the internet, and it changed our lives and business forever.

  We are a very small company and grow all of our own plants in limited quantities. We want to stay this way. At present we can offer superior customer service and advice because of our size, and we hope that this never changes.

  Susie,White Dog, Old Liz, Brent, and Tooter at our new digs in Lake County CA, 1998, future home of Evergreen. Sadly, all three of these dogs are now in doggie heaven. What joy they brought to our lives. Now we only have Young Liz (QEII) who reminds so much of old Liz pictured here, and our new dog Oscar, a 90 pound Catahoula Leopard Dog. Oscar has taken over Tooter's place of being the family clown. Young Liz has taken over Old Liz's place as being the family worry wort. It's hard to believe how much the place has changed in thirteen years, but the nursery still isn't done!

• Where We Are

  We are six miles south of  Kelseyville CA in Lake County, three hours north of the San Francisco Bay Area, and two hours from Sacramento. We have moved the whole nursery to the new site ending a six year marathon of trucking plants over the hill. This is a very exciting move for us and will allow us to do much more. Plans are for an expanded propagation area, increased growing grounds and botanical garden. The story of finding our place.

  We do not have a retail store, but do accept visitors by appointment only.

  

• How to Contact Us

  Since we are a small family run nursery, we are usually in the field most of the day and cannot man the phone. PLEASE write or email before visiting so you won't be disappointed. The growing grounds are open by appointment only, so you must email several days in advance. We do not have a retail outlet with regular hours for the public. Our mailing address is:

  EMAIL. The very best way for us to answer your questions and to take orders is via email. Brent loves to get email and answers every single message as quickly as possible, usually the same day. There is a secure order form at the website which has a text box so that you can also ask questions and place your order at the same time. This avoids toll calls, and phone tag. You will also have a permanent copy of our responses if you desire to keep them.

  PHONE. It is impossible for us to take phone orders. If you absolutely must speak to us by phone please email Brent with your phone number and hours that you may be reached and he will return your call ASAP. Orders must be placed by email at the website, or by snailmail. If at all possible please contact us via email. You will get faster service and avoid toll calls and phone tag. We REALLY do answer our email quickly.
